The Exposure Project stemmed from our curiosity surrounding audience engagement in immersive performance.
We aim to explore and deepen our understanding of the audience’s relationship to immersive productions and how we can transform our audience from spectators into fully engaged participants.
Much like designers, our intention is to look at immersive performance and deconstruct audience-driven interactions. Through researching the core principles of “immersive theater” we want to strip away the spectacle to learn how to deepen the audience engagement in the worlds that we create. We do this by focusing our efforts on the use of and researching technology, storytelling, and environment design in creating audience buy-in.
Our hope is that this work will help improve the quality of immersive performance and create magical realism in all future projects.
